• All advertising must be in a digital format. Preferred file type is PDF/x-1a.
• Required format for four-color digital advertisement is press quality, high-resolution Adobe Acrobat PDF file format with all fonts and images embedded.
• Embedded images must be a minimum of 300 ppi (pixels per inch). Color images must be CMYK. Files containing RGB or LAB images will not be accepted.
• All screen and printer fonts must be embedded. These rules also apply to text used in artwork.
• Crop marks should be provided in the creative to show exactly how the ad should be placed in the ad space.
• Spreads and full-page ads must include a minimum of 1/8” bleed.

Geofencing

Geofencing is the most targeted and effective way to reach an audience that has visited a very specific location at a specific time. For conferences, we start collecting user data on the first day of the show. As users enter the geofenced area their mobile id is collected and we can immediately start to serve your marketing message to this audience. We continue to deliver ads during the conference for an effective “at market” campaign and then target these same users for a week (or more) after the event.

Advertising Terms & Conditions

All advertisements are subject to the approval of the Irrigation Association (IA; “Publisher”).

Advertiser indemnifies The YGS Group and the Irrigation Association (IA) against losses or liabilities arising from this advertising. The YGS Group assumes no liability whatsoever, except to the extent of a one-time paid advertisement of the same specification, in the next or similar publication, if any proven or admitted errors or omissions have occurred.  

Full payment is due net 30 days upon receipt of the invoice. Interest shall be charged at 2% per month compounded to yield 26.82% per year on overdue accounts. A charge of $30.00 will be levied against all returned checks. Revisions to previously submitted ad copy are subject to additional charges.  

In the event of contract cancellation, the advertiser/or agency agrees to repay The YGS Group any discounts granted on multiple insertions less any discount applicable for the number of insertions completed in the contract. All cancellations must be received in writing prior to the advertising sales deadline. All premium print placements and all digital placements are noncancelable. Prices are net of agency commission.  

For print and digital media contracts with multiple insertions, The YGS Group will collect the artwork/ad for the first month. Ads contracted for each additional month for that same product will be considered a pick-up unless the advertiser or agency alerts The YGS Group that they would like to run a different ad. Digital ads are due by the dates indicated on the Digital Ad Deadlines page of the online media kit unless otherwise noted on product-specific media kit pages. Print ads are due by the dates indicated on the Irrigation & Lighting editorial calendar and Irrigation Today editorial calendar pages of the online media kit.

All requested available metrics for contracted digital ad runs will be provided a maximum of once per month at the conclusion of the run unless otherwise explicitly outlined by the product in this agreement. Metrics will be sent in the format that IA provides to The YGS Group.

  • Vital copy and images must be at least 1/8” away from trim. Spread ads must have at least 3/8” total gutter.
  • Materials should be submitted without crop marks, but full-page ads should include the required 1/8” bleed.
  • All fonts used must be embedded in the PDF file.
  • Using the bold, italic, or other style keys is not encouraged. Please use the bold or italic version of the font. (For example, instead of making Adobe® Garamond bold with the style key, use the actual font for Adobe® Garamond Bold.)
  • Flatten all layers and set transparency to highest setting.
  • Ads must be suitable to print as-is. Association is not responsible for any errors in content.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Materials that do not meet the stated advertising specifications will be rejected.
  • Necessary alterations are the responsibility of and at the expense of the advertiser. All materials must be submitted in accordance with the published deadlines and meet the criteria stated in the advertising policy.
